Ysgol Eirias 41    St Davids college 7

The score line does not reflect how hard we had to work to subdue a highly motivated St Davids team.

The game started in perfect conditions and saw Eirias take control of the ball and dominated possession. However ,after 17 mins the score was still 0-0. Eirias had missed two or three opportunities to score and must learn to be ruthless when given the chance to score. Possession and territory count for nothing without points. St Davids tackled really well and out scrummaged Eirias at scrum time, but found it difficult to gain a foothold in the game with our impressive ‘blitz’ defence.

Match Report Yr 7 Football November

Ysgol Eirias V Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy.

Yr7 Boys played their second round Welsh cup match was played away at Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy in very difficult wet and windy conditions. The whole team worked extremely hard to establish themselves in the game and keep the score at 0 – 0 going in to half time. Credit must go to the back four (Ike, Harry, Finn and Alex) who had to be on top form to limit Dyffryn Conwy to half chances, the closest they came is when they struck the bar in the first half.

Nov 2014
As part of our many and varied celebrations of European Day of Languages on the 26th of September, Languages students from Years 10-13 at Ysgol Eirias were set the challenge to create a postcard depicting any country in the world and devise an accompanying quote to capture the essence and uniqueness of that country. We had lots of beautiful entries with striking images, some of which came from holidays or school trips. The captions were imaginative (and sometimes humorous) and most had been translated into the language of the county depicted. After deliberations, 13 were chosen and the winning entries made into a calendar. The winners and their entries were photographed with Mr McTague, our Headteacher and each of them was presented with a desk calendar as a prize. The quality of the entries was very high and reflects the positive and enthusiastic attitude of our young linguists here at Ysgol Eirias. Bien fait! Gut gemacht!
