GCE AND GCSE RESULTS 2010
SIXTH FORM ENROLMENT IS THURSDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER AT 1.20pm Not Monday 6th as stated in local press A Level Reaching for the stars In the year when A level students are awarded A* grades for the first time, students at Eirias are celebrating a veritable constellation of results. With 100% pass, of which over 80% are at grades C and above, students, staff and parents are all over the moon. Many students are now hoping to go to University to study a range of subjects from Medicine to Drama, Chemical Engineering to Philosophy. Laura Smith, who intends to take an Art foundation course before studying fine art, achieved an unprecedented 3A* and 1 A, Caitlin Hughes with 2A*s and an A will study English Literature and Philosophy at Cardiff. Tom Simpkins 2A*s and 1A and Claire Castle with 1A* and 3 As will respectively be going to Oxford to read Maths and Birmingham to read Music. Bucking the national trend many of our students will go on to study the sciences and a range of languages, from French and German to Italian, Russian and Arabic with Middle Eastern Studies.

Top class results, and the wider skills developed within the Sixth form, are even more essential as the economic climate begins to make employment more competitive"
GCSE Level Best ever results completes year of celebration Building on last weeks’ superb A level results, the best ever KS3 results, the outstanding Inspection report and the opening of the state of the Art technology block Ysgol Eirias is again celebrating their exceptional, GCSE results, bucking the National trend with 81% of students gaining five or more A* to C grades. Topping the league with a fantastic 9A*, 2As and 1 Distinction is Tim Nye. Further particularly impressive were the performances ofRobert Green 8A*,2As and 1 Distinction at GCSE and 2As and 1 C at AS level Robert Ferdinando 7A*, 2As and 1 Distinction Chuyan Yu 7A*, 3As and 1 Distinction at GCSE and 1A at AS level Tom Hindley 8A*, 2As and 1 Distinction Ffion Roberts 7A*, 3As and 1 Distinction Mary Owen 8A*,5As and 1 Distinction Jack Osborne 5A*, 4As,1B and 1 Distinction at GCSE and 2As and 1C at AS level Naomi Dicken 4A*, 5As, 1B and 1 Distinction Monica Convill 4A*, 6As and 1 Distinction Martin Lüdenbach 3A*, 6As, 1B and 1 Distinction and 1A at AS level Twins Keelan and Rebecca Woodhouse between them gained 6A*,8As, 5Bs and 1C “This has been an exceptional year.
